Programming Assistant, Fane UK

The Role:

As the Programming Assistant, you will work across the full spectrum of our Live department, collaborating closely with the Programming Manager and Programming Coordinator to check venue availability and secure bookings for Fane’s UK-wide tours and one-off shows.

You will also work alongside our Producing team to help deliver the highest possible standard across all aspects of the Fane Live Programme, ensuring each event runs smoothly from planning through to execution

INTERNSHIP SCHEME

Following the success of our inaugural internship in July, the Fane Group is pleased to announce the official launch of its Group Internship Scheme beginning in January 2026.

The programme provides a unique chance for talented individuals to gain practical experience in the live events industry, especially those from lower socioeconomic backgrounds and underrepresented groups.

Each departmental cycle will last 20 days, with the possibility of extension for outstanding interns. Participants will have clearly defined goals, structured guidance, and the opportunity to work on real projects while learning from experienced mentors.

The scheme will run every two months throughout 2026, covering six departmental rotations: Finance, Ticketing, The Shared Narrative, Kontour (production/logistics), Marketing, and Live Fane UK (production/programming).

BOOKSELLING

Fane is proud to partner with independent and local bookshops across the country, and we’re passionate about creating opportunities for booksellers to thrive at our events. 

Below are some common questions from bookshops interested in working with us: 

How do I get in touch to sell at Fane events? 

We’d love to hear from you! Simply email [email protected] to connect with us. 
Keep in mind: we plan our events well in advance, so please try to get in touch as early as possible to get involved. 

Do you take commission? 

Nope! We never take commission from the bookshops selling at our shows. 
However, some venues may require a commission. In these cases, we negotiate directly with the venue, with 10% commission as our standard request. 

How do you decide who works on Fane events? 

In most cases, the publishers we work with guide us toward specific bookshops. 
We reach out to independent bookshops to collaborate on our tours and always respect the territories that bookshops serve - local connections matter.
