Join award winning author and winner of AKO Caine Prize for African Writing, Irenosen Okojie, to celebrate the release of her extraordinary and thrilling mythical novel, Curandera.
Set in the mountainous town of Gethsemane, 17th-century Cape Verde, a mysterious woman's arrival sparks a series of strange events that will leave the town's inhabitants changed: men sporadically blind in the afternoons, children disappear and reappear without warning, and infertile women become pregnant with the memories of past births.

In conversation with writer and editor of Lucy Writers, Hannah Hutchings-Georgiou, together they will dissect themes of shamanism, desire, betrayal, and friendship. Delving into the depths of her liberating and seductive style, Irenosen shares her kaleidoscopic journey as a Black Nigerian writer and her celebration of the knotty, complex threads of her identity.
