An Evening with Felix White

A Matter of Life and Football

One night only of music and sport to celebrate the launch of Whatever Will Be, Will Be.

An Evening with Felix White

Join Felix White – The Maccabees, Sunday Times bestselling author, co-host of the much-loved cricket podcast Tailenders and film composer – for a one-off evening that fuses football, memoir, and music to celebrate his new book Whatever Will Be, Will Be: A Matter of Life and Football.

Whatever Will Be, Will Be finds Felix on the cusp of 40, on tour, and reflecting on his past. Felix will share how a spontaneous decision to watch Penrith Town face Pickering Town in the FA Cup’s very first round set him on an extraordinary mission: to follow the whole journey of the world's most historic cup competition, all the way to Wembley.

Along the way, he introduces us to the characters who give English football its heart, revealing how the game offers focus, community, and (often misguided) hope. In his hands, the FA Cup becomes more than a competition: it’s a lens on belonging, obsession, aging, childhood, work addiction, and the messy art of finding meaning in modern life.

In this special evening, Felix will weave together memoir, music, and matchday magic. Expect live music too, as Felix goes beyond Whatever Will Be, Will Be to discuss and perform the endless correlations between music and sport in his work.
