Cam grew up in a family-run zoo in Hertfordshire, rebuilt from the ground up by his grandparents after they took over one of the UK’s most neglected zoos in 1984.

In 2024, as Director of The Big Cat Sanctuary, Cam led a high-risk evacuation of five abandoned lions from war-torn Ukraine, a mission few believed was possible. Yuna, Vanda, Rori, Amani and Lira were brought to safety in the UK, where they were able to feel grass beneath their paws for the first time and begin their rehabilitation in peace.
