Over the course of one day, an unnamed woman wakes up, gets to work, watches the clock and goes to the pub. But underneath this routine, there’s something else going on: something under her skin. Every minute, from morning to night, ideas about sex, violence and comedy intertwine. little scratch is a fierce, enlivening and moving depiction of what it means to live out the trajectory of a single day consumed by trauma – and how the mind can survive.
In conversation, Rebecca will explore the inspiration behind her much hailed and innovative debut novel, which started life as a piece that was shortlisted for the White Review story prize in 2018 and has now been adapted for stage at Hampstead Theatre and directed by renowned theatre director Katie Mitchell.
This promises to be an enlightening and thought-provoking evening.
