Rickie Lee Jones, one of the most trailblazing women in music and a two-time Grammy Award-winner, has been called ‘the premiere song-stylist and songwriter of her generation’ by the New Yorker.

Join her for this exclusive event to celebrate her new memoir Last Chance Texaco: Chronicles of a Troubadour: an adventure story of a child who beat the odds and grew up to become one of the most legendary artists of her time, turning adversity and despair into music.

In conversation, Rickie Lee offers the first ever no-holds-barred account of her life in her own words—a tale of desperate chances and impossible triumphs. She’ll share stories from the 1969 California summer of love, when at aged 14, she hitchhiked across America ad how this journey inspired the famous and infamous characters of her early songs. She’ll consider her rollercoaster career, from teaching herself to write songs on a bench and meeting Little Feat guitarist Lowell George who offered to record her song “Easy Money” as the single of his solo record, to a few months later, signing to Warner Bros. Records and making her spectacular debut on Saturday Night Live and the cover of Rolling Stone.

With Rickie Lee’s trademark originality and refreshing free-thinking, this promises to be an enlightening and fascinating evening of stories, memories, and the magic of making music.
