Bryony Gordon: No Such Thing As Normal
Journalist, author, podcaster, and activist Bryony Gordon has long been open about her mental health. Over the years, she has suffered from OCD, depression, bulimia, and alcoholism – most of which she did completely alone, just like everyone else who suffers from mental illness. But it doesn’t have to be that way.
Join Bryony for this exclusive event, as she offers a practical guide to mental health, building on her most recent publication, No Such Thing As Normal.
Live on stage, Bryony will be offering sensible, practical advice, covering subjects such as sleep, addiction, worry, medication, self-image, boundary setting, therapy, learned behaviour, mindfulness and, of course - as the founder of Mental Health Mates - the power of walking and talking.
From depression and anxiety to personality disorders, one in four of us experience mental health issues every year. In these strange and unsettling times, more of us than ever are struggling to cope. Cutting through the Instagram-wellness bubble, Bryony will share valuable information and tools to get the best out of a poorly funded system and explore what her mental illness has taught her about mental wellness.
With the chance to share your thoughts and experiences, or put your own questions to Bryony, in this interactive - yet entirely anonymous - group discussion, this event will teach us how we can all feel stronger, better, and just a little bit less alone.
For those who are unable to attend the live show, the event will be livestreamed via Fane Online. Worldwide viewing is available and the stream will be available for one week on demand after the initial broadcast, so you can watch at anytime if the initial broadcast time doesn't suit your timezone.
Age guidance: 16+. Show running time: 110 minutes including 20 min interval
